Mission Statement
Good day, ladies and gentlemen. I'm delighted to be here today to share my mission statement and the driving force behind my creative endeavors.
In my pursuit of knowledge at the University of Illinois, I immersed myself in the intricate world of Eastern and Western philosophical works across different eras. During this intellectual journey, I was fascinated by effective altruism—a philosophy and societal movement that employs evidence and reason to find impactful ways of contributing to the well-being of others. Peter Singer, a highly regarded Australian moral philosopher, provocatively asked: “Can we genuinely claim virtue and ethical commandability if we neglect substantial efforts to alleviate global poverty and save lives facing imminent peril?” Echoing these sentiments, John Rawls, an American moral, legal, and political philosopher, underscored the pivotal role of individuals in shaping a just society. He advocated for impartiality and fairness in the distribution of resources and opportunities, irrespective of one's social standing.
Motivated by these profound philosophical principles, I embraced the path of an artist with the intention of cultivating a sustainable culture of benevolence within the global art market. Throughout my college years, I benefited from grants and scholarships, and two essential thoughts occupied my mind: expressing gratitude for those who facilitated my education and extending assistance to children facing dire circumstances, including malnutrition, illness, and a thirst for education. To achieve these goals, I envisioned creating artworks that bridge the gap between donors and underprivileged children. I think that these artistic endeavors could 1. convey profound meanings, 2. accumulate enduring values, and 3. persist for centuries.
Envisioning a scenario where a percentage of each artwork sale and resale over generations contributes to charitable endeavors, I invite you to consider joining this noble cause. By participating in the currents of benevolence through art, you can concurrently experience prosperity. More importantly, your involvement has the potential to make a meaningful impact, transcending social classes and contributing to a more compassionate and just world.
